“We've been coming here for years and this place is truly majestic. Not your traditional hotel experience, instead something far greater. Full of amenities and the staff is very well trained and delightful. Unique activitirs to partake in on the beautiful sprawling grounds. Chef Benjamin is on another level. If you are even a little bit of a foodie, you need to come here. I could say many more great things about this place, just come and experience it!”

“What a lovely afternoon enjoying English tea at a beautiful local castle! The food was absolutely delicious, the tea selection was wonderful, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. The stunning views and elegant atmosphere made the entire experience feel so special and relaxing. A perfect way to spend an afternoon — we can’t wait to return! As an added bonus we were so blessed to be able to enjoy & purchase some of Smithmore Castle’s honey! It wasabsolutely delicious honey! The flavor is rich, smooth, and perfectly sweet without being overpowering. You can truly taste the freshness and quality in every spoonful. It’s wonderful in tea, on biscuits, or simply straight from the jar! I’ll definitely be purchasing more and highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates real, high-quality honey.”

“We had the chance to experience the afternoon tea at Smithmore Castle and my daughters and I absolutely loved it. We were greeted upon arrival and shown to our beautifully set table on the terrace surrounded by delightful floral arrangements, fountain and gloriously peaceful mountainscapes. We could tell how much care and personal attention goes into creating this experience for the guests. We loved the fine china, tea selections, several rounds of small bites and desserts, but especially estate honey and incredible lemon tart from the castle’s chef. We were graciously welcomed by the owner who personally came out to greet us. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the entire afternoon felt like stepping into a little piece of the English countryside tucked away in the North Carolina mountains. Definitely worth visiting for a special afternoon experience.”

“Sir Benjamin, Wanted to extend one last and very sincere thank you for hosting us over the weekend. It was a true pleasure to hear your families story and to share your home, even if only for one night. Me, my wife, and her family are extremely grateful for the experience and the hospitality you and your staff extended to us. It is a time that will not soon be forgotten. Every moment, from the tour upon our arrival, to the care and attentiveness of the staff, to the amazing rooms, amenities, and meals, was truly incredible. Best wishes to you and your family, especially with the arrival of the newest member in the coming months! Cheers Branden”

“My husband and I got married at this incredible castle, and from that very first day, it completely stole our hearts. The sweeping views alone are worth the visit, but it’s the feeling you get when you’re there that keeps us coming back. Every return visit feels like stepping right back into the magic of our wedding day. Chef Benjamin is truly exceptional — his dishes are a masterpiece every time. From the first bite to the last, his food captures the essence of luxury and comfort in perfect balance. Whether it’s a special dinner or a quiet weekend getaway, he never fails to impress us. This castle isn’t just a destination for us; it’s a place where memories live and new ones are made each time we visit. Highly recommend to everyone!”

“My wife & I had our wedding at Smithmore Castle this past weekend, while staying the night before. From start to finish, every detail was handled with care, professionalism, and genuine warmth that made our celebration truly unforgettable. I'd like to begin by highlighting the incredible culinary experience led by Chef Benjamin Epicure. The bison lasagna was a delightful surprise as it was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I had two servings myself! It was unlike anything we or our guests had ever tasted and quickly became the talk of the evening. The Chilean Sea bass was equally exquisite, with a delicate texture and seasoning that demonstrated true culinary mastery. We also want to recognize the impeccable service of the footmen, Zachary and Bradford. Their attention to detail, calm demeanor, and gracious assistance throughout the event were invaluable. Whether it was helping guests find their way, managing last-minute needs, or offering quiet support behind the scenes, they went above and beyond and were a true credit to the Castle Smithmore name. A particularly meaningful moment for us was the compassionate way the team assisted a family member who suffered a fall during the evening. The care and quick response provided was deeply appreciated. Their staff’s professionalism and genuine concern did not go unnoticed, and we are immensely grateful. I would absolutely recommend anyone to have their wedding hosted here.”
